Meraki Wellbeing

Meraki Wellbeing exists to help you access, as an individual, or an organisation, the benefits of meditation and mindfulness, Reiki, acupressure and acupuncture. All these ancient practices dating back 1000s of years originating within Eastern civilisations but are in use widely and globally.

You may be an individual, looking at their self-care, wondering if Reiki healing and meditation can help you.
You may be feeling physically well but perhaps you have a sense that something is missing in your life – sense of purpose or connection perhaps? You may have trouble sleeping, relaxing, concentrating or focusing. You may be experiencing headaches, joint pain or fatigue.

You may be an organisation that’s curious about how physical and psychological ill health occurs and explore these ancient and profound but equally simple interventions. There is clear mainstream scientific evidence around the benefits of these therapies to the individual including improved sleep, reduced stress and reduced pain. At an organisational level, organisations that put Human Factors principals at the center of what they do AND integrate ancient practices in to their workforce well-being, are safer and more productive businesses with lower levels of staff illness.

What she is, why I set her up and who I am as a Practitioner.

Meraki – pronounced ma – rak – e – is a Greek word. It’s about doing something with your soul, your heart, your passion and maybe leaving a little bit of yourself with your client.

During the development of my business, I felt a fire burning deep within me. That this business was part of me and something I must do. In setting it up, I lay my soul open to skepticism and down-right mockery. This type of business and healing won’t be for everyone – and you know what, that’s OK! I know how I feel for bringing the modalities I offer in to my life. I know how my studies have brought me to a place of creativity and determination to make this work. My over-riding intention is to help people get curious and try new things – what’s the worst that could happen?

I’ve spent over 25 years working to help heal people through “modern medicine”. This continues to be my privilege. As my energetic growth took pace, I moved from yoga student to a yogi, I experienced acupuncture and trained in it, as I explored meditation and mindfulness I felt called to train in it. I felt called to Reiki. I was innocently laying in meditation during a New Year Intention setting workshop. We’d talked, shared a yoga practice and were being bathed in a wonderful sound bath. As I lay there, conscious of my privilege, I experienced this shaft of warm golden yellow light come from above and fill my head and upper body. Having meditated for years this didn’t freak me out. I leaned in to it without latching on, or reacting to it. I breathed in to it and enjoyed the warmth and safety and sense of belonging that came with it. Within a week or so of this, I’d booked my first level or Reiki training and that was that. Reiki was part of my soul. For me, Reiki feels like the final piece of my puzzle. It honestly feels like a calling and I’m unapologetically enthusiastic about it.

I know first hand that modern life is busy and stressful and how hard I’ve worked to create self-care that works for me. During my 121 treatments and Corporate sessions I can tailor my content so that you get what you need. Through my ongoing learning I know I have the credibility of a “Western” NHS doctor and critical thinker. I can share a broad and up to date scientific evidence synthesis. Blended with this, are my skills as an “Eastern” Practitioner who listens with her ears, hands and soul.

Through my personalised, mixed modality treatments I hope to share my Meraki, my passion, with you.
